About John

John is an experienced estates and trusts lawyer.  He established Armstrong Estate Law in 2012.  He is estate planning and administration counsel to personal representatives and acts as a trustee for private trusts.

Actively involved in the local community, John is a former trustee of The Calgary Health Trust, Senator of the University of Calgary, and director of The Calgary Stampede Foundation.  He is an honourary life director of The Calgary Foundation and the Hong Kong Canada Business Association (Calgary).  He is a director of Scouts Canada Foundation, the Chinook Scout Foundation, the Trinity Place Foundation of Alberta, and the Harry B. and Martha Cohen Foundation.

John is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of England and Wales, and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.  He is a life member of The Estate Planning Council of Calgary.
